Scenarios

The R2R structured decision making process includes 3 rounds of modeled scenarios.

1

Bookend

How do salmon biological recovery objectives respond to intensive management actions in each of four categories (habitat, hydrology, hatcheries, and harvest)? Bookend scenarios evaluate a single, intensive management action with the goal of learning how the modeled system responds to different management options.

2

Blended

How can salmon recovery be achieved through different combinations of management actions? Blended scenarios build on findings of the bookend scenarios to explore multiple, distinct approaches to meet salmon recovery criteria of biological objectives.

3

Balanced

How can scenarios be modified to achieve salmon recovery while balancing other socioeconomic interests in the Central Valley? Balanced scenarios build on findings of the blended scenarios to explore combinations of actions that meet biological recovery criteria while better satisfying other socioeconomic interests.
